Opportunities for Ministry and Service

Youth Ministry
Trek Sunday
Middle school students (grades 6-8) meet every Sunday night from 5:00-6:30 p.m. for Trek Sunday.  Students meet as a large group in The Refuge (lower level) for live music, challenging talks, skits and short games.  Students then break off into small groups for catechism based teaching and discussion.  Dinner is served every Sunday at 6:15 p.m., followed by a casual time to hang out with friends. 
Trek Wednesday
High school students meet every Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. for Trek Wednesday.  Students meet as a large group in The Refuge (lower level) for live music, challenging talks, skits and short games.  Students then break off into small groups for catechism based teaching and discussion.

Cadets Boys Club is a program especially for boys in 2nd through 8th grade. The goal Cadets is to help boys grow spiritually in all areas of life. Cadets enjoy outdoor activities, projects, and Bible study. Cadets meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Ministry Leader: Jeff Harkema
 
Coffee Break Ministries is a time of fellowship and Bible Study for women. The group meets at Wooddale Lutheran Church in St. Louis Park on Tuesdays from 9:30-11:00 a.m., and at Calvary Church on Wednesdays from 9:30-11:00 a.m.  Program Leaders: Eileen Rosenwinkel
 
Crossroads Bible Ministries: Volunteers disciple inmates with he Word of God. Training in correcting Bible Study lessons is provided and volunteers support inmates with letter encouragement and instruction each week. Contact Person: Ruth Muyskens

Gems Girls Club: Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior (GEMS) is a program especially for girls in 2nd through 8th grade. The purpose of GEMS is to bring girls into a living relationship with Jesus Christ through fellowship. Girls will enjoy a time of Bible study, a craft, and singing. GEMS meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Program Leader: Cheryl TenHoor

Friendship Ministries is a church volunteer-staffed ministry, which ministers to the mentally disabled in a group and a one-on-one setting, teaching them the love of Jesus. Friendship meets on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. Program leader: Shirley Attema

 
Pioneer Club
A Bible-based ministry for boys and girls ages 3 years through 1st grade. The children will enjoy a time of Bible Study and a craft. Pioneer Club meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month from 6:30-8:00. Program leader: Amy Van Eps

Senior Choir

Senior Choir welcomes all who enjoy singing. The choir participates in Sunday worship 2-3 times each month. Director: Tim Ribbens

Senior Adventures: A program for seniors (55+) that meets once every three weeks, on Tuesday. Activities alternate between a lunch and book study and a social outing. Program Leader: Janette Kamp and Dalen Asche

Singles Adults: Meet every 2nd Sunday night for food and fun and every 3rd Sunday for supper and Bible study. Contact Jeff Kleinwolterink, Kim Attema or Deb Attema.

Stephen Ministries: The goal of Stephens Ministries is to equip lay people with Biblical, Christ-centered training and resources to provide one-on-one listening and care giving to the hurting in the church and the community. Contact person: Pastor Todd Hilkemann

 
Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People
VEAP is a human service organization serving Richfield, Edina, and Bloomington. VEAP provides food, clothing, and other needs for families. VEAP also provides counseling services. Contact person: Linda Ribbens or Kayla Schaap
 
Women's Bible Study meets Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. for fellowship and coffee with a Bible Study beginning at 10:00 a.m. Contact person: Joyce Velgersdyk
