Calvary Singles’ Group 2005-2006

VISION:

To nurture single adults in their growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church

CORE VALUES:

· Spirit-Led (Psalm 119)

- create an environment for spiritual growth and accountability

through Bible study and book study groups

· Purposeful (2 Thes. 1:11-12)

- build intentional community through prayerful planning and communication with group members

· Ministry Alignment (Heb. 10:24-25)

- continue communication/cooperation with small group committee

- join with other small groups in fellowship and ministry

· Relational (Matthew 18)

- building relationship by spending time in Christian fellowship,

encouraging love, sharing, caring, sorrowing, and rejoicing while

also holding each other accountable without passing judgment

· Culturally Relevant (Matthew 18.19-20)

- participate in monthly bible study and book study groups

- present new mission organizations/opportunities during gatherings

· Gifts-based ministry (1 Cor. 12:1-31)

- create opportunities for group members to share gifts and also

provide ways to develop spiritual gifts

GOALS:

1. All singles’ activities should meet at least 2 core values.

2. We will offer opportunities for intensely-focused spiritual growth at least 1x per year (i.e. men’s and women’s spiritual retreats).

3. We will provide an environment for intentional community at least 2x per month (i.e. Bible study, 2^nd Sunday fellowship).

4. We will create prayer partner ministry with willing participating members.

5. We will participate in 4 service projects during the 2005-06 year.
